NAACP National Listening Tour in Detroit August 24

You are cordially invited to participate in the first stop for the NAACP's seven city National Listening Tour titled "NAACP Forward" featuring Interim President & CEO Derrick Johnson and Chairman of the National Board of Directors Leon Russell, among others on August 24  at 6 p.m. at Greater New Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church.

NAACP Forward is a part of the organization's strategic plan for the future, enhancing its mission, vision, and fight for civil rights amidst a swirling climate of political hostility, voter suppression, income inequality, mass incarceration, police brutality and anti-immigrant sentiment. As we host the national NAACP leadership team, we will provide them an opportunity to meet you and others to assist in our organizations transformational retooling.

The itinerary for the day is as follows:

6:00 p.m. National Town Hall - Free and Open to the Public

Greater New Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church

586 Owen St. Detroit, MI 48202

We ask that you please plan to attend the Stakeholders Luncheon with other political, religious, business, labor and civic leaders from our region. The agenda will include an update from our local, state, and national leadership teams, as well as, an opportunity to provide feedback about our direction moving forward. To confirm your participation you can contact Kamilia Landrum at klandrum@detroitnaacp.org by 5:00pm on August 21, 2017. This invitation is non-transferable and admits one guest.
