GRIPE VS. GRIEVANCE

While every grievance begins as a complaint, all complaints do not become grievances.  In order to know what complaints can be processed as grievances, you will need to refer to the collective bargaining agreement between the County College of Morris Board of Trustees and the Academic Administrative Personnel Federation of County College of Morris, Local 3983.  As you will see on the beginning of page 31 of the contract, the definition of a grievance is an alleged misinterpretation, misapplication or express violation of the collective bargaining agreement.  (Exclusions are also listed on page 31).

We can change direction on state employee pay and benefits - but in order to do so we must come together as a group and stand up for our professions and our work.  Other state workers are represented on Governor Beshear's Employee Advisory Council - but no one is there to represent state professionals.

Chamber Balances Budget on State Workers

A report released by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce recommends that Kentucky state employees be forced to pay more out-of-pocket for helath insurance. The Chamber presented the report as part of their plan to solve the revenue shortfall facing the state, but information presented at the Governor's Employee Advisory Council meeting by the Personnel Cabinet shows the Chamber Report to be flawed.
