Petition: to continue George Zimmerman investigation

Saturday night, a Florida jury acquitted George Zimmerman, a man who killed an unarmed teenager in cold blood. While we believe in the rule of law and while the jury has spoken, the implications of the acquittal are profound. It is disappointing that a racially profiled, unarmed African-American young man can be shot dead with no consequences for the perpetrator.

Retirement News!!

The US Department of Labor, in cooperation with the Social Security Adminstration and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid launched an online Retirement Toolkit to assist in planning for retirement.  You can find information about when you are elligible for Social Security (benefits of delaying payments), 401K plans (penalties for early withdrawals), and health and prescription benefits (through private insurance and Medicare).  There are also retirement calculators which can be used to determine future expenses and savings needed to achieve financial stabilit

Negotiations Update

Your negotiating team has been working hard to negotiate a successor agreement.  We have met with the College now six times and are getting closer to a tentative agreement.

One Voice United Rally in Albany

There were over 15,000 people at the rally for education. Frank and his daughter represented TALI (Take Action Long Island) and Herricks.
