TAKE ACTION NOW TO PROTECT SOCIAL SECURITY

January 1 was the 80th anniversary of the first Social Security payments. Since that time, Social Security has become a crucial lynchpin in the retirement income for a majority of Americans. 64 million receive Social Security, and the payments lift at least 22 million of them out of poverty. This means that the program is crucial to the health and welfare of many of our citizens.

Postmaster General Megan Brennan is leaving, and the Trump administration might now get their chance to appoint a pro-privatization replacement. We must not allow this to happen.

NYSUT Counts-2020 Census

NYSUT Counts is our union's initiative to ensure that every resident of the state is reported in the 2020 Census. The results affect the allocation of $700 billion in federal funding to schools, hospitals, municipalities and needy families.

IRS Representatives Address FLARA

Treasure Coast members of FLARA, the Florida Alliance For Retired Americans, had their monthly appointment at the local office of Congressman Brian Mast (CD 18, FL) in Port St. Lucie. With new changes in the tax laws, Constituent Services Coordinator Derek Hankerson, invited representatives of the IRS to address the retirees followed by a Q & A.
