In light of the recent hate crimes in the area, the Danbury Nurses’ Union Unit #47 Executive Committee voted to join with other Unions and Social Justice Groups to show unity for peace and acceptance and the right for religious freedom.  This is the reason the United States of America was founded.    Come support our constitution for the right of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

WASHINGTON—In response to President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Tom Price to head the Department of Health and Human Services, leaders of the AFT, the nation’s second-largest union of nurses and healthcare professionals, have issued the following statement:

 

Join the Fight for Retirement Security

Republicans in the Michigan Senate are pushing Senate Bill 102, legislation that would close the Michigan Public School Retirement System to newly hired school employees.
 
This attack on our pensions is being led by anti-working family interests and billionaires—including Betsy DeVos, the U.S. president-elect’s pick for Secretary of Education. DeVos and others like her believe that workers should only have access to risky 401(k)-style retirement plans. We know there will be a serious attempt made to ban traditional pensions in the public sector, and it’s a slippery slope!
