A public service announcement for our members — If you do not already process a Lifetime America the Beautiful National Parks & Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass now is the time to get one. The passes currently cost $10, but the price will increases to $80 on August 28. A new $20 annual Senior Pass will become available at the same time.
NYSUT Phone banks for the Constitutional Convention Vote No campaign will begin August 1st and will continue every Tuesday until Election Day. The location is the Suffolk Nysut office at 150 Motor Parkway , Hauppauge ( Third Floor). Hours are 10:30-1:30. Lunch will be provided.
UPDATE: Ballots for the 2017 BCFPE Election for all Union Officers are in the mail via Elections USA. Please be on the lookout for your ballot in the mail. If you have not received a ballot by September 18, 2017 please notify the committee chair immediately to receive a replacement ballot. Replacement ballots can be requested no later than September 18, 2017. All requests for replacement ballots must be in writing. No ballots will be faxed, emailed, or sent by express courier. AFT St. Louis was chartered June 11, 1935 as Local 420 with the American Federation of Teachers. The union was integrated BEFORE the St. Louis Public Schools in 1935. AFT national and our Local have stood for diversity and acceptance and against racism and segregation from the start.
The Texas AFT honored Ruth Skow at the State Convention this summer in El Paso by awarding her the Harley Hiscox Pioneer Award.

The Long Island Museum in Stony Brook invites all amateur and professional artists to submit up to three pieces of art representing the Animal Kingdom; a favorit pet, a memorable adventure, a scene from nature … It's a jungle out there and the Museum want to see what Long Island artists have to share.
Delegates from Orange County Classroom Teachers Association joined over 7,000 NEA members in Boston for the NEA Representative Assembly.
