NTU Update - September 22, 2017

Colleagues,

1) NTU Calendar Books – This is the question we get most at the NTU this time of year “Where is my Calendar book?” The 2017-2018 calendar book is currently at the printer and we hope to have it out to the membership in the next week or so.

2) NTU Contract Books – We are working with NPS on finalizing the new Contract Books. We hope to have a digital version on the website next week and the print copy available soon after.

Governor Walker Visits Chippewa Falls School District for Re-Election Photo-Op

Chippewa Falls, WI – School districts across Wisconsin have faced devastating budget cuts under the Walker administration, and this year’s budget is no exception.  With greatly expanded access to voucher programs, the promised per pupil increase will hardly alleviate the strain districts continue to feel.  Yet the Walker administration continues to tout their overnight change of heart when it comes to public education, and visiting the Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District provides a perfect photo-op for the Governor’s re-election campaign.

State Employee Bargaining Team Meeting

AFT-Maryland applauds our state employee members as they begin the process of bargaining for a new contract. In advance of official negotiating sessions, AFT Healthcare-Maryland (AFTHCMD) and the Maryland Professional Employees Council (MPEC) held meetings to provide context and background for those that are on the negotiating team.
