The Michigan House of Representatives, ignoring fierce opposition from the Democratic minority, passed a dead-of-night financial aid package for Detroit Public Schools that had been twisted into a partisan screed against Detroit teachers and school employees.
The DPS/DFT 2nd Annual Teacher’s Appreciation Gala will be held June 4, 2016 at the Detroit-Dearborn Doubletree Hotel from 6pm-12am. This event is to recognize our hard work and dedication to the children of Detroit Public Schools. The deadline to sign up is May 2, 2016 so don't delay.

Reminder: Eligible employees who retire effective July 1, 2016 or Aug. 1, 2016 and whose irrevocable separation-from-service forms are submitted to the DPS Human Resources Office no later than May 1, 2016 will be paid $35 for each unused day in their sick bank up to 100 days, and $45 for each unused day in their sick bank for day 101 to 200 for a maximum payout of $8,000.
